Shri Rajendra S. Potdar, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai passes away ...

Shri Rajendra S. Potdar, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive) and President of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai expired on 15th February, 2011 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai. He had been hospitalized due to a brain hemorrhage last week. All the members of the Association and Federation of the Superintendents of Customs mourn the sad and untimely demise of Shri Rajendra Potdar and convey their deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

Shri Rajendra Potdar, born on the 6th of June, 1952, joined the Preventive Service as a Preventive Officer on the 25th July, 1977 and was promoted to the cadre of Superintendent of Customs on the 30th September, 1996. He was, at the time of his demise, holding the charge of the Superintendent-in-charge of Posting Section at the Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Nhava Sheva. He would have got his promotion to the post of the Assistant Commissioner very soon. He was holding the Post of the President of the Association of Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai since many years and his untimely demise is a great loss to the Association and the cadre of the Superintendents of Customs. A case filed by him against the disparity in promotion between the Superintendents and the Appraisers is still pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

Shri M.I.Mulla, Deputy Director (Mumbai) passes away today...

Shri Muhammad Ibrahim Mulla, M.Sc. born on the 28th March, 1951 who joined the Department as a Preventive Officer was promoted as an Assistant Commissioner on 20.12.2002. He was posted as Assistant Commissioner in Mumbai-V Central Excise Commissionerate from 22.10.2007 and was promoted as Deputy Commissioner. Presently he was posted as Deputy Director in the Directorate of Inspection, Western Regional Unit, Mumbai.

Shri M.I.Mulla died today morning (9th April, 2010) of a massive heart attack and the cremation is being held in the evening.

Shri M.I.Mulla was an active member of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs till he was promoted to the post of the Assistant Commissioner. The Federation mourns the untimely death of Shri M.I.Mulla and conveys its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

Shri Bijay Kumar Mohapatra, Superintendent of Customs (Mumbai) passes away ...

Shri Bijay Kumar Mohapatra, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai passed away on 07-04-2010. Shri Mohapatra died of a massive heart attack. Shri Mohapatra, joined the Department as a Preventive Officer in Mumbai Custom House in the year 1986. He was promoted as a Superintendent of Customs (Preventive) later.

Wife Smt. Mohapatra is an Inspector posted in the Mumbai Central Excise Commissionerate and his two sons are studying in the 10th and 7th standards respectively.

Shri Mohapatra was an active member of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai and had contributed to the betterment of the fraternity. The Federation mourns the untimely death of Shri Mohapatra and conveys its earnest sympathies to the bereaved family.

Shri H.A.Morrais, Superintendent of Customs (Mumbai) is no more ...

Shri H.A.Morrais, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai passed away on 27-04-2008. Shri Morrais died due to heart attack. Shri Morrais, born on 14th August, 1950, joined the Preventive Service as an Officer in Mumbai Custom House on the 28th November, 1974. He was promoted as a Superintendent of Customs (Preventive) on the 30th September, 1996. He would have been promoted as Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise soon.

Shri Morrais was an active member of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai and was a sportsman at heart. The Federation mourns the untimely death of Shri Morrais and conveys its heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

Shri N.B.Shaikh, Superintendent of Customs (Mumbai) passed away ...

Shri N.B.Shaikh, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai passes away on 24-04-2008. Shri Shaikh died due to a renal failure. Shri Shaikh, born on 1st January, 1953, joined the Service as a Preventive Officer in Mumbai Customs on the 28th May, 1975. He was promoted as a Superintendent of Customs (Preventive) on the 30th September, 1996. He was at the third position for promotion to the next grade i.e. Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise.

Death of Shri Shaikh, a very active member of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai, is a great loss to the fraternity and the Department. The Federation conveys its sincere sympathies to the grieving family.

Shri M.N.Qureshi, Superintendent of Customs (Mumbai) passes away ...

Shri M.N.Qureshi, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive), Mumbai breathed his last on 06-03-2008. Shri Qureshi who was undergoing treatment at the Nanawati Hospital, Vile Parle, Mumbai, died due to heart ailment. Shri Qureshi, born on 18th May, 1952, joined the service as a Preventive Officer in Mumbai Custom House on the 2nd September, 1976 was promoted as a Superintendent of Customs on the 30th September, 1996. He would have become an Assistant Commissioner in the near future.

Shri Qureshi was a member of the Association of the Superintendents of Customs, Mumbai from its inception. Shri Qureshi was a source of profound knowledge and inspiration for others to work for the department in the right direction. The Federation mourns the untimely demise and pays tribute to the departed soul and conveys its sympathies to the bereaved family.
