The Superintendent with sports in the blood
Many of us do not know how to nourish the inherent qualities that we possess. But some of them know how the same can be nurtured to bring glory of their personal as well as social lives and to become a role model for others.
Let me tell you about one member of our fraternity whose name is Shri Nirmal Chandra Barman, a 1950 born Post-Graduate who joined this department in 1978 as a Preventive Officer. Shri Barman holds the unique athletic record of bagging two Gold Medals (400 mtrs), three Silver Medals (two in 200 mtrs and one in 400 mtrs), and one Bronze Medals (in 200 mtrs.) in All India Central Revenue Sports Meets held in different zones. Presently, Shri Barman with his utmost self-determination is busy in preparing himself to compete in the 18th Maiayasian Open Veteran Master Athletic Championship to be held on 27th and 29th August, 2004 at Likas Stadium, Kotakinabalu, Malayasia. He will also partclpste in the 13th Masters Athletic Championship to be held at Bangkok from 1st Dec, 04 to 5th Dec, 04.
