AUDITOR'S REPORT

I have audited the attached Statement of Accounts of M/s. All India Federation of Superintendents of Customs for the year ended 31st March 2002. Preparation of this financial statement is the responsibility of the Federation's Management. My responsibility is to express an opinion on this financial statement based on my audit.

I have conducted my audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in India. Those Standards require that I plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance that the financial statement is free of material misstatement(s). An audit includes examining, on test basis evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. An audit also includes assessing the accounting principles used and significant estimates made by the management, as well as evaluating the overall financial statement presentation. I believe that my audit provides a reasonable basis for my opinion.

Subject to the above remarks I report that:

(a) I have obtained all the information and explanations which to the best of my knowledge and belief were necessary for the purposes of my audit.

(b) In my opinion, and keeping in view the Constitution & Rules of the Federation, proper books of account as should normally be kept by this type of federation have been kept by the Federation so far as appears from my examination of such books.

(c) The Receipt & Payment Account referred to in this report are in agreement with the books of account.

(d) In my opinion and to the best of my information and according to the explanation given to me, the said Receipt & Payment Account give true & fair view of the Receipts & Payments of the Federation for the year ended 31-03-2002.
